February Summary 2012

Good afternoon, folks!

It's back to little ol' me making up the newsletter once again. SR and Desh did an awesome job with the previous one - I thank and applaud their efforts. Now March has arrived and spring is coming! Aside from some great OOC chatter, we have some IC things to give heads up for so let us get started.

OOC news

In the brief time between the last newsletter and now, we still managed to gain a new member that I would like to welcome now. Please greet Leyla who joined us on the 22nd of February, offer her plots, scenes and otherwise make her welcome among our little family. Welcome! :)

On this note, I would also like to send a wave of cheer to the last month's arrivals Arizae, Oryx and Fyrasha all of whom have settled in nicely and hopefully are finding plenty to do within our crazy Pern-life.

As we all know, Valentine's Day was in February and as a part of WoF's traditional celebration of it, we went with a slightly different approach this time around. The Enkala High School V-Day Prom held in the theme of Dragonriders of Pern! How cool is that? The Halloween showed us that we could all shift into monsters, this event has already proven that Enkalans are also excellent RL high school setting players. Naturally there are more brats and bums than actual straight-A students but where's the fun in all being goodie two-shoes anyway?

Anyway, the scene to the prom can be found here: http://www.dancingshadows.net/Windfury/index.php?topic=2093.0 If you want to join it, you are absolutely welcome to! If you have no date for it, well... make one up or hook up with someone on the party already. It happens! We welcome you to the fun even and remind you that the punch is more than likely already heavily spiked. The scene will be continuing until it winds down so no rush in wrapping it all up.

More information, the playlist and the ever-popular Enkala High Meme can be found on the V-day Prom forum here: http://www.dancingshadows.net/Windfury/index.php?board=46.0

As a part of my efforts to remind everyone to click for your forum and help us rise in ranks to be seen, let me point out the three buttons on the right in the bottom of the forum's every page. Click to vote and you can also raise the rating in the Fandom Topsites(RPGD). We appreciate your support greatly :)

IC News

As is customary, here is where we point out the new and exciting characters on the loose on WoF and Enkala Weyr/Hold. Since the previous newsletter, the following characters have been created: Brick(by Leyla)! I know, I kind of over-dramatized that but every new character is a step in the good direction, right? ;)

I'm not entirely sure if I have the IC and OOC news mixed today or if it's supposed to be the other way around(the V-day prom is still RPing but not in the timeline and universe we are playing it but the characters are the same we have running around IC! So hard to choose). But anyway, aside from the Gold Flight consequences being wrapped up and taken to the crowds in the form of Weyrleader negotiations and new Wing assignments, the previous Weyrleader is still attempting to scare the Hold into paying them more tithes, unaware of the reasons why they are getting so little of late. That sneaky little boy... *shakes fist*

The scene can be found here: http://www.dancingshadows.net/Windfury/index.php?topic=2083.0 if any Holder wants to swing by. Sadly since the Weyrleaders took no one but themselves from the Weyr, it is currently unavailable for more dragonriders. But then, if you have a great idea for it and your rider character, let me know and we'll work something out.

I would like to point out that very soon(some time between this newsletter and next), our time will move on, meaning the IC time will move into the Turn 1759, first, second and third months. Keep your eyes on the announcement board and try to finish up your older scenes that you want finished before we do that.

I am pretty sure I'm forgetting something but there we go. The newsletter with news from mid-February to the beginning of March was here. Enjoy your RP, bring your ideas to us, take part of the V-day prom and most of all - HAVE FUN!

January Summary 2012

A DRAGON APPEARS!

January Newsletter
(and a bit of February because we’re awesome like that)

SO! Newsletter! Ha! SR and Desh are co-writing this thing. And eh... yeah, I (SR) am not as organized as Nyaare, so it’ll be a bit different. Maybe Desh can add some structure (or taste!) but I’m just going to kick this off.

I think we normally start with the new members, yes? So from the top of my head welcome to Arizae, Oryx, and Fyrasha. Also a re-welcome for Kylee, who has finished her character at long last and is now also happily playing with us. We’re glad to have you all with us and we hope you’ll have a ton of fun on WoF =D

The new characters, again, from the top of my head are F’lai (by Kylee), A’lor (by Fyrasha), Emaela(by Oryx) and Z’en (by Arizae). If I missed any, it’s not personal, I just suck! T doesn’t get his shitty memory for names/faces from the milkman...

Oh and a happy birthday to Bexx! She turned REALLY OLD in January! Enjoy that Bexx, it’s all down hill from here baby!

Now then, that concludes the newsletter! Happy playing!

... <.<

Just kidding, I do sort of know how these things work. (Desh: Mmmhmmm)

We talk about January, in the January newsletter. So first off, the biggest breaking news of the past weeks IC news.

THE GOLD FLIGHT HAS ENDED!

Holy shit, did you ever think this day would come? (No) Well we certainly didn’t! It will be an amazing clutch what with the length of this beast. Anyway, it’s ended and stuff happened. Two bronzes (Gavanth totally started it) got into an amazing fight during the flight, taking themselves and a few others out of the race, leaving the way wide open for A’jan’s Zarath to win it, only rivalled by V’mer’s Bonth. Talmeth however, chose Zarath and thus A’jan, the cupcake man, is now our new Weyrleader! Yeeey!

The change of Weyrleader, of course, is creating some upheaval. Wings are being shuffled to match the perceived ideas of A’jan, and you can read his announcement on it here

As any weyrbrat knows first comes the Gold flight and than comes egg laying! We’re expecting a clutch at the end of the 1st Month of the new year (ICly, obviously) and then a hatching at the beginning of the 3rd month. So if you have an idea for a candidate? Now is the time! Search riders will be out looking for candidates and the weyrbrats will be starting to prepare as well.

As per usual, candidates have to be between 16 and 22 at the time of impression, so keep that in mind when creating characters for a clutch.

Now that we’ll (hopefully!) be having some candidates, we’ve also decided it is time to bring in some more manpower to handle all these youthful enthusiasts. We’re looking for someone to play a candidate master (or several someones even!) so if you have an idea for that, you’re also very welcome to make that. Weyrlingmaster Assistants are also needed as there will soon be even MORE babies to manage than before.
More info on this can be found in the brand spanking new topic Desh made here

In the past month and then some we’ve concluded the plot discussion and have some exciting new stuff waiting for us all to happen. We’re slowly getting the plot rolling and you’ll find out more about it as we go along, but if you missed it, or want to read up on it, or just want to contribute, you’re of course very welcome to do so. the thread can still be found here

You’ll find a summary of everything on the second page of the discussion and are VERY welcome to run with the proposed plot as you see fit, or add more to it IC and OOC.

In other exciting news, yours truly (SR, still writing, whoohoo!) has signed you all up for the craziest of posting escapades in a long long time. A bet was made, off-handed-ly with Nya that we could make it to 10,000 posts by our second birthday. WoF’s birthday is on May 14th and I’m rallying the troops to post lots and lots to make that mark.
Unofficially I’m calling it “The march to 10K!” And it’s epic and working a wonder so far. Activity is high and people are posting everywhere and I just wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone participating. You may all polish your honorary “posting machine” title and badge with due pride! You’re earning it with every post you make!

In the true spirit of crazy writing endeavours we have a few threads to honour this where you can find fun and adventure (and information).
Information on the march is HERE
You can get involved quickly with the resident plot generator (me!) here
And keep track of our overwhelming progress here

As of right now we need an average of 28 posts per day to make the mark. Seem like a lot? As it turns out, it really isn’t! We’ve been doing 35+ posts almost every day since we started, so don’t be startled by the staggering numbers, it’s really easy and all about fun! Every post you make is one for the tally, so post much and play stupid forum games (they totally count!) until your fingers bleed! \o/

Another fun event (and a lot less intimidating, at least.. I think) is our Valentines Day event! We did one last year and we’re doing one again this year. A deep Alternate Universe in which Enkala has turned into a modern day High School. Welcome to Enkala High! Let the horror begin.

For info on the event you can read the sign up right here

Sign up has closed already, because this newsletter is late, so I would tell you to sign up but we are already in the future! But fear not, you can of course still enter, just give us a poke in the cbox or via PM, or better yet... just join and have fun!

Just because you NEED a date doesn’t mean you can’t sneak in through the fire-escape, right? ;D
The section for this AU event is on the index, clearly visible with lots of pinks and reds (thanks to Khay for the graphic!) but if you have trouble finding it, or are lazy (like me!) here is a link

There is an information topic about the school, a major thread for the actual dance but you’re welcome to make threads elsewhere in the school for naughty shenanigans! Remember, it’s AU and all about having fun, so by all means, go crazy and do what you feel like!

We’re also working on a Prom Playlist. You can post your contributions in the “What the band is playing” thread and I’ll add it to the playlist as soon as possible. Here is the playlist.

A new Weyrleader, world changing plots on the horizon, and a prom! *squeel* It’s everything you could ever want! So grab your character (or make a new one!) and join in the excitement! Yeah, make a new one. Definitely make a new one! =D

December Summary 2011

Greetings,

As opposed to the normal IC and OOC news, I will be mixing everything up this time around so you’ll have to excuse me. The end of year has been tiring ;)

2011 is over! We are half-way through our second year of existence and it’s been rather action-packed IC-ly and OOC-ly. We have gained many new friends and members and on the sad side, lost a few to RL, inactivity and other reasons. I hope you are all doing alright out there, no matter what you are up to and Happy New Year, to you!

And a happy new one to us all on the Winds of Fury still, as well! The activity check has revealed a nice gang of folks we can continue the story of Enkala with. Now, we’re going to have to do a little discussing on how to do that and what we want to do. I look forward to your ideas, crazy and not so much. The thread for this discussion is here: http://www.dancingshadows.net/Windfury/index.php?topic=2001.0

Welcome back to Charlie, Star and Makato(Becky). It’s good to see old members return. I hope we’ll find plots, scenes and other fun together J That said, we have a returning bluerider D’jan, a green Weyrling Ny’ko and a new Weyrfolk character Zaria to play with so it shouldn’t be difficult to get stuff started.

I was thinking the other day about superlatives – the longest scene, the spam game that got the most views, the character with the most IC posts but then I decided that all characters created and played on WoF on the year 2011 are winners. We’ve had a lot of fun, there have been a lot of exciting scenes and our members have come up with such amusing OOC games, posts, opinions, etc. Thanks for being there, you’ve given me a lot of good stuff to look back on the year for.

We had two OOC-IC events – one of which was a roaring success and the other a bit less so but darn if we haven’t had fun going through with it! During the Valentine’s Day event we chose a Mister Pern 1758(M’rman!) and a Miss Pern 1758(Rayna!). Both are absolutely gorgeous, amusing, talented and went through an excruciating process of a beauty pageant in Enkala(both Weyr and Hold). That was also when our first alternate universe(AU) scenes were had with fantastic pairings that otherwise would never happen. Or they might, now that we know how they play with each other! You never know what those crazy Enkalans do.

In the other OOC-IC event, the Halloween, all characters that had been signed up, dressed up as something completely different. Monsters, werewolves, ghosts and Faranth knows what a leviathan is, flooded the boards in this AU posting match. For a while, WoF was quite the scary place to go to! The HW-tagged scenes can still be found on the forum so if you stumble upon them, be sure to have some popcorn to have on the side.

In September, we switched from the safe and cozy phpbb3 to a more modern and exciting SMF software. The transition was easy enough and we installed a few good mods to make the WoF experience even more enjoyable for us all. That said, if anyone is still having problems with this, please let us know and we’ll try to fix it or advise how to make it work.

In RP-world, the Weyr had a new set of dragons from Ista Weyr that transferred a whole Wing to help out the flailing Enkala and then a Clutch of 22 eggs! The Senior Weyrlings are preparing to graduate while the Gold Talmeth is getting ready to Clutch again. The Weyrling Barracks are still standing so I guess the new Weyrlings are a bit more tame than the previous ones. All can change, of course, so stay tuned!

Thread started falling and first losses happened both in rider and dragon deaths and injuries. But as always, Enkala Weyr pushes ever forward, ignoring the possibility of failing. How will the story continue is in our hands so get involved, jump into the RP and tackle the plot.

I mentioned the activity check but now I’d like to elaborate a little. With the last newsletter and in the beginning of December I posted the last Activity Check of 2011 to get the sense of what we have and who we still have around kicking. 13 people replied to the check, one of whom wanted their characters set inactive. I haven’t dared to count the number of characters that was set inactive but it’s pretty high this time which makes me very sad. Of course, the hope always remains that you will return and yoink the character back into activity(it’s as easy as sending me a PM with such a request by the way) and play with us again. Although Star and Makato did not reply to the check, since they had some sort of activity during the check period, I included them in it. 18 people who were previously active, had their characters set inactive. Perhaps you got busy, maybe another game caught your attention or something else came on the way, I don’t know. It’s entirely possible that you did not find on WoF what you wanted and stopped coming by. For you, I recommend the plot discussion to speak up on what you are looking for and what would make this place more attractive and interesting. Keep in mind, that you are always welcome back.

Again, happy new year and lets have a prosperous year 2012!

November summary 2011

Greetings, salutations and hello!

As always, the monthly newsletter comes in the first week of the next month! Meaning here we stop and take stock of what has been going on on Winds of Fury Dragonriders of Pern RPG forum. But even before we go into the OOC news as always, I would like to take a moment and remember the wonderful writer that has given us the world we play in - Anne McCaffrey might have passed away on the 21st of November but her characters, her ideas and worlds continue on always! RIP.

OOC News.

In the month of November, the following lovely new people joined us: Heart, Britt and Ayra! Welcome welcome, we hope you enjoy your time on WoF. Don't be shy if you have a question, comment, plot idea that sounds crazy at first. We love hearing from you and RPing with you so there we go. Also we had the return of Star and Kylee. Welcome back to you, two. Looking forward to writing with you, too.

In November, our Halloween scenes continued. They can and should be still finished but the creation of new ones has drawn to a stop. Don't forget we have a few guessing games and titles to give out concerning this fun and scary special event so stay tuned on the event topic here To all of you still finding your beastly selves - definitely continue to the victorious end. It is terribly fun!

As you can see from our slightly seasonal banner - original graphic by Desh and garland-ed up by Lee - the merrymaking holidays are approaching! For your IC/OOC and otherwise ambiguous Christmas/Turnover presents, visit this topic. Don't forget to leave your gifts there from yourself, your characters and to whoever! It is the time of spreading joy, after all.

As IC news will also emphasize, we are on the hunt for Searchriders. So if you read this and are thinking of creating a new character or spicing up an old one - make it a Searchrider! It is a good position and from now on, often used to bring in more and more fresh Candidates. Both old and new members are welcome to create such lovely people.

Last but not least, there is an on-going Activity Check, the last one this year. It can be found here Lets check in and rock into the new year!

In case I don't see you before next newsletter - happy holidays, everyone!

The biggest news in the weyr is golden. As in golden Talmeth has finally risen! Several males have already taken flight after the queen but fear not! The thread is located HERE and open to any adult bronzes (or bold brown maybe?!) who seek glory, Seren’s bed skills, and of course the impressive mantel as Weyrleader! Will the Enkalan bred T’khor reclaim his title? Will Istan transfer G’tien keep his tenuous hold on the metaphorical crown? Or will the victory go to one of the new challengers?! Only time will tell!

Aside from the action in the sky we are pleased to welcome some new IC faces to Enkala. LinkNovembers new arrivals include: the weyrbrat Zaria, weyrling Ilista, bronzerider V’mer and weyrling Nyali! Many of them have already jumped into the fray so keep an eye out! And while I’m at it I’ll plug our Matchmaker which is great for people looking to get into some nice and naughty threads but unsure how to go about it. =D Just as fun but not as dirty as it sounds usually.

As the Weyr waits in earnest for the gold flights winner to emerge the relationship with the holds continues to be tense. Is the hold holding out on the half halfheartedly supplied weyr? Or is the weyr wretchedly wringing all it can from the weary holders? Opinions differ but I never get tired of alliteration. Guess we’ll find out come winter.

In anticipation for another clutch the weyr is in search of search riders (ha!), all interested blue and green riders please come forward! Speaking of searchriders check out this nifty segue where I pimp our adoptables! Aside from being made by members of Winds of Fury these adoptable characters are open ended and have lots of guaranteed plot potential! They are looking for a good home so please consider them when you're thinking of your next char. And you are...aren't you?!

The weyrleadership is up for grabs! Thread is falling regularly. Turnover is just around the corner. The weather may be cooling down but things at Enkala are just heating up!

Thanks to Desh for the help with this newsletter! :)

October Summar 2011

Greetings, denizens of WoF!

It’s time to look back on the previous month and all the fun we have had and to share some important messages and announcements you should know. In other words, it is newsletter time!

OOC News.

October was a busy month for us all, RL and on the board. I will start off with what brought some excitement all through the member-base and that’s the great voting race! Despite us not offering anything besides more posting love and respect to our members, you guys came together and clicked us on top of the Topsites. Well done, it was wonderful to see everyone so hyped about this! While the rush is over, we appreciate any further clicking and reviewing of our board by our members and others, in the future as well.

As I mentioned in the previous newsletter, the signing up for the Halloween event continued in October as well until on 31st, SR finally revealed it and it is a good one! Everyone got a secret identity for their characters and a scene-buddy to play out the spooky story of our very alternate universe Halloween season. There are dangerous, almost apocalyptic(har har, see what I did there?) creatures running around in this separate timeline and so far the event is a huge success! Please feel free to check out the scenes so far in our timeline topic and the event topic. Remember there are prizes to be had and monsters to kill and we’re not resting till the world is safe again! Or till the boogiemen finally take over.

We also have some people taking part of the widely known writing event of NaNoWriMo which means their goal is to write 50 thousand words during the month of November. I wish you all the best and know you can do it so have fun with it, folks!

Last but not least at all, the time lords have tinkered with the IC time again and we have moved onto the next period, which is the autumn-winter of 1758. So new scenes should be put into the months of 10th, 11th and 12th of 1758. Of course, the older scenes can and should still be finished so don’t panic if you’re not quite caught up yet. Nothing gets locked and put away simply for being in the older time-zone.

IC News.

To wrap up the general IC events that happened in October, I will use the great and effective bullet point method!

- The tensions between the Weyr and Hold increase as the Weyrleader squeezes them for the delayed tithes – not something a new Hold can really uphold just yet, and the Hold’s heir continues his nonconstructive criticism of the Weyr, not winning any popularity contests there.
- New Searchriders are sought – it is known that the Weyrwoman has been interviewing possible new additions among Enkala’s blueriders but also greenriders! What’s next, brownrider Searchriders? We shall see!
- Old records clearly indicate that Golds rise more often during the Pass so now, every set of bronzer and ambitious brownrider eyes are fixed on Enkala’s Queen Talmeth, willing her to rise and bring Weyrleadership to yet another man. Or has G'tien perhaps won the Weyrwoman over well enough during his term to have her sway the odds in his and his dragons’ favour? All will be soon revealed.
- Fourth Clutch! It must be lucky and the Golden Egg MUST be in this one. Surely it is time or even past the time for Enkala to have a second Gold! Rumour says that even if Talmeth spawns a much revered Gold Egg this time around, negotiations with a few other Weyrs are being finalized and possibly another mature Gold getting transferred to the struggling Weyr. How would that work? Whatever the case, more dragons are greatly needed for each Thread Flight picks at the ranks of the Weyr’s fighting Wings.
- On the bright side, the older Weyrlings are just about ready to graduate and the younger class has been growing and developing with a steady, quick pace. No longer tiny versions of their grown-up brethren, the dragonets from the Third Clutch simply must grow up faster than ever before.

Well, that’s it for now. Remember to swing by the forum and take part of the Halloween event and of course, the regular timeline as well. We are in need of bronzeriders and greenriders but also Holders, Crafters and really, anything you can think of that fits the Pernese scene. There is an awesome Wanted Characters list.

Look forward to seeing you on Winds of Fury!

September Summary 2011

Hello everyone!

I am as always, fashionably late with the Newsletter. But here it is at long last and sent using the new nifty Newsletter option in SMF admin panel. I hope it works. Please work! *shakes the forum!* Ahem, anyway. Here we go.

OOC News.

If you have logged into the forum during the past month, you would already know this but if you haven’t, I’m happy to report that we moved from phpbb3 software we were using before onto SMF and everything went well. Informational topics, links and accounts have been suitably fixed, the new look is great and so far I have received no complaints about this change. That doesn’t of course mean I wouldn’t want to receive when should you have problems with the forum now. So don’t be shy!

On this new SMF forum, we are using sub-accounts mod that makes our system of an account per character easy to manage. With a little setting up, you can set your character accounts up as your sub-accounts and then have no need to log in and log out to post with different characters. You merely have to switch around the account using the very much visible drop-down menu on the forum’s front page or when posting, it allows you to do so with any of your linked accounts. And if your finger slips or you forget, upon editing your post, the option to pick the account you post with, is available. Nifty eh?

SR has made this awesome linking guide for us, with pretty pictures and step by step instructions: http://www.dancingshadows.net/Windfury/index.php?topic=1815.0

In other news, the end of October will have an awesome holiday called Halloween, and we are looking to start a tradition from throwing fun events in those occasions. If you remember the Valentine Day’s event, this will be much like it so if you liked that, you will love the Halloween event! It will be RP related and it will be very much thematic. OooooOOooo! *cough* Right then. Why I mention this so early is because like VD event, this will have signups so this serves as a heads up to keep your eyes peeled on the General Chat sub-forum for when the topic pops up. Naturally I will not tell you what the event is about but it will be great!

IC News.

As the Hatching and Hatching Feast continued, it has now become clear that the newest Clutch is brown-dominated. These pretty chocolate dragonets have all but one found a player for them and theirs and are now actively inserting themselves into the going-ons of Enkala, whether Enkala wants it or not. Here’s to hoping all the young dragonets grow up to be strong and fast and clever as they supply the Weyr’s wings with much-needed reinforcements. But that is yet Turns away right now...

For the Senior Weyrlings, it is an approaching reality. Some of the bigger young dragons from Talmeth’s Second Clutch have already been employed in Thread Flights, either passing firestone or doing some flaming of their own. Hopefully the young ones won’t break under all that pressure. Something for the Weyrleader to consider, eh?

Speaking of which... According to the old texts, Queens should be rising more often now that Pass has started so perhaps Enkala will have a new Weyrleader very soon? Although at this time Talmeth shows no signs whatsoever of preparing to rise to mate, the day may be closer than we think! Who will run into... err... who will heroically catch Talmeth this time, making his rider the new Weyrleader of Enkala Weyr? Will it be anyone the Weyrwoman will not deny residence in her Quarters this time around?

And once again, following on that topic, about a week after the Hatching, the Weyrwoman of Enkala delivered a Clutch of her own! The Weyr’s Lower Caverns’ ladies are all awed and suitably aflutter as the new additions to the Weyr’s Personnel Records – Serti the girl and Sorren the boy – display striking similarities with their father, the bronzerider T’khor who is the former Weyrleader of Enkala and as many hope, the future one as well.

Much more is going on. Mourning of the lost ones, teenage outbursts of irrationality, young puppy love and drunken dragonhealers and oddly behaving drudges. Oh my! Enkala is full of activity so come and read the rest on yourself.

August Summary 2011

Hello everyone!

It is time for the newsletter again. As the last one was so late, this one is fairly on schedule as will be the next ones. This I solemnly swear! A lot has happened so I’ll get right on it.

OOC News:

Since the last newsletter, so since the middle of August, we’ve had the following new members join us: Weetia(Tia), Ethaiel and Patty. I bid you all a very warm welcome and hope you will have a lot of fun Rping on Winds of Fury.

As some of you might have noticed, Desh has become pink instead of the lovely blue of the OOC accounts. She requested pink so who am I to refuse, hm? It simply means that Desh is now a moderator on our forum. She will be keeping stuff up to date and advertising as well and much as she wants to(lets be honest, I am a way too relaxed boss) and of course, she will continue to advise and help new members as well as old, being the walking Pern Encyclopedia that she is. Thank you for joining the team, Desh!

We’re currently running an activity check, third in this year so if you haven’t done so already, go check out this topic: http://dancingshadows.net/Windfury/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1788 It’s also a global announcement so it’s pretty difficult to ignore if you’re looking around the forum. This thing will run until the 15th of September – make sure you’ve posted in it before that. Thanks!

This month and the next we will have less of SR and a bit less of me as well but I will at least log in daily to do some administration job. If you have something that you want done and only I can help you, please send me a PM. We also wish SR a great vacation in the land of pasta and errr... pizza! No, it’s not New York. Desh can help you, too now, keep that in mind. And RP shall still take place so don’t stop having fun!

IC News:

These are our brand-spanking new characters: Syva, S’bat, D’tin and Elkira. All have already been dunked into RP so the best I can wish you is continued fun with the scenes you have now and in the future.

The Hatching has gone surprisingly well! We have had two browns Impress, a blue pop out of the egg, a bronze and two (PC) greens as well! Congratulations to Vainnan(V’nan), Razek(R’zek), Sebat(S’bat), Dintin(D’tin), Faun and a little prematurely to Malakai(M’kai) as well! Everyone is also welcome to join the Hatching Feast(the scene can be found here: http://dancingshadows.net/Windfury/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1775 ).

The First Thread Flight continues, if a little slower but I believe the first permanent results are indeed out and known to all. K’rel of blue Obileth fell and several dragons and riders were hurt but the battle was eventually won. As a side-note, all of you with dragonrider characters should be aware that from now on, the Thread Flight happens every 10 days in RP so feel free to use that in your scenes now.

As an additional information, O’zark of brown Ferreth, the former Weyrlingmaster decided he was too old and a little too sickly to be responsible for the youth of the Weyr so he has resigned. In his place, the Weyrleaders have promoted the Assistant Weyrlingmaster, M’rman to the rank of Weyrlingmaster. All Weyrlings now answer to him.

The Weyr needs a Candidatemaster. Since it is known that Golds Clutch more often during Pass, there will be many Candidates up and about the Weyr and they need some tutoring and support as well. A few candidates for the position have been suggested already but we do take recommendations.

As the last note, there is a dire need of new Searchriders so all blueriders(adult and those from the older Weyrling class) should have a talk about this with the Weyrlingmaster M’rman. That said, a few greenriders with especially sensitive dragons may also apply.

That’s it! Have a fun September, folk. Winds of Fury Pern RPG steams on and the action is non-stop. Come leave your mark and write your own story.
