November 2010 Summary

Hello hello,

It's that time again that we're going to check into our mailboxes and find within the Winds of Fury RPG forum newsletter with everything or at least some hint on what's been happening on the forum. Of course, as always, we do prefer it when people actually check in the forum itself and take part of all the happenings but we're not blaming anyone for being busy, for having a real life or whatever it may be that is keeping you from joining in on our fantastic RP.

With the end of the year coming, we have plenty to look back upon but we won't just yet. I'll leave it to our highly festive December issue. Just so now you have a taste of things to come, ha! Thankfully there is plenty to report from November(11th Month) as well so there is no worries at all that we would be running low on things to write about.

Out of Character News:

As tradition goes, the first and foremost Out of Character business is to welcome our newest additions. In November we gained two wonderful and active members. Please welcome to Winds of Fury Scribraven(Scribby!) and Evan. Both have created characters and set them loose onto the RP area so special kudos on that! We hope that you continue enjoying our forum and have a lot of fun roleplaying with us. We have certainly enjoyed your company so thanks for that :)

Last month's end saw the initiation of our activity check. We appreciate your activity and letting us know where we stand and in addition to now finished check, please remember that when you have any sort of problem or questions or comments, both myself and SRness are always happy to help and find solutions to whatever might be bothering you. It is not to say that we only get complaints - in fact I'm happily reporting so many satisfied customers so to speak and great feedback from our ever so lovely members. It's truly heart-warming and inspiring.

With your help, we have re-gained our position in the Pern Topsites listing and are about to take the 5th place! Go us! As always, keep clicking for your clicks help other Pern enthusiasts find us and come RP with us.

In addition to SRness' challenge involving most wonderfully hilarious quotes and phrases put into in character posts, I am about to post another challenge, this time an Out of Character one. But you'll have to check out the forums to see that one, I'm not telling just yet but I will say that as a result of it, we are all going to be winners.

As a last point of out of character interest, I would like to draw your attention to our gifts corner where you can go and drop all your presents to show a fellow WoFian your appreciation. It will be open all month and if it is to become a popular practice, I'm not against keeping it open for the future as well! So get to wrapping those pretty gifts of yours.

In Character News:

The following absolutely brilliant characters were created in the month of November: Fin(gall), Maere, Quirra, Rylan, Holly, B'xan, Ar'tel, N'van, E'mris, Gl'win and I'nora. 4 of them were Weyrlings, too! All these characters have settled in already and can be seen in various scenes all over the In Character forums. It's got to be one of our busiest months since the beginning. Cheers for that!

However, ICly the month has been tough on our Enkalans. Not only has the weather gone rubbish as it usually does in their part of Pern in the final months of the Turn, the sickness that was considered a mild case of flu, has been reaping lives left and right all through this cold, dark and damp month. It has reached every person, if not making them ill as well then touching someone close to them. Important characters like T'khor, Ava and J'cob have been ill but A'reus, Setsuna and E'rosen were stricken too. You know... the little people...But they seem to be recovering now. The death toll among the Lower Caverns folk is still unknown but it is known that among the riders, twenty-one have been lost, including L'sio, J'nas, H'kiah, H'ren, N'ris... Gavanth would like to point out he also had a stomach ache, poor worm... Thankfully your courageous if a little short-handed and slow healers have been working on finding the cure and are making great progress! Together we will get through this terrible time.

In addition, the rumours have been confirmed! A whole Istan Wing has asked to be transferred to Enkala Weyr! Of course, that was before the sickness so some of them may yet reconsider whether they want to put themselves in danger. But it is known - the drudge's aunt told her friend in the weyrguard station and he passed it onto the kitchen staff and Faranth knows where it went from there - that at least twenty new dragons are going to show up at the Weyr by the end of the Turn, assuming the healers solve the sickness mystery. This transfer has been a cause of great fights between the Weyrleaders - maybe that's why T'khor got ill? He always was too involved in his arguments - but by now they seem to have faded and an uncertain truce have been struck to nurture the bronzerider back to health.

At the end of the 12th Month there is going to be a Turn's End celebration. Despite everything going on the Weyrwoman declared that a feast was just the kind of a thing to cheer people up after such a rough month. Hopefully the difficulties are now behind them and the final month of 1757 will be peaceful and pleasant.

New this time! Ask Uncle T. The question was found from among the Weyrfolk anonymously and the answer written down before he could forget.

"Dear Uncle T, As of late my weyrmate has been acting strange. She's been avoiding me and the only times I see her is waking up next to her in the middle of the night. She says she doesn't want to have sex with me anymore, not even when it's cold. What do I do? - Frustrated Bluerider"

"Bluerider, She's probably just pregnant. Have K'rel take a look and then decide whether you want to spend the next 9 months waiting on her beck and call. If not, catch yourself a new green in the next green flight. I hear that Liath is rising... Best of luck."
