September Summary 2010

Greetings once more!

With daily activity, the month flew by. Although many have been busy with
school, work or other things, Winds of Fury has now been running for five
months and is going strong. There are scenes happening everywhere and new
characters joining into the fun. From the day the new Gold arrived at
Enkala to stir things up until this day when the Hatching of her Clutch is
in full swing, the Weyr has seen quite a lot of action. Let me tell you -
we are just getting started! With the Hatching celebration coming up and
the new Weyrlings settling into their new lives, there also comes a more
sinister plot that concerns everyone in Enkala! Keep your eyes peeled and
enjoy your time on our little forum!

~*~ Out of Character(OOC) ~*~

September saw the following new players on Winds of Fury: Bahiti, Melissa
and Frangipani. Welcome, guys, it's great to have you. Don't hesitate to
contact people for plots, general open RP or anything you want to know,
comment, ask about on the forum. There is already another plot coming up
after the Hatching to jump into, so feel free to get involved in it. More
about that, however, in the In Characters news..

I have a few OOC news this month. First is more of a call-out to all of you
who have created your characters and placed them in Enkala Weyr or those of
you who haven't yet but have been considering it. Forum RPGs are nothing
without members and characters so do come around, play with us and add your
story to the pile of histories and drama going on. Besides myself, SRness
is also able to set up, review and give absolutely brilliant feedback,
suggestions and comments on character concepts. There's an adoptable list
with fantastic pre-made characters to pick up - they're mainly set up with
bare minimums so that players could take them and make them their very own,
something they want the characters to be. For most of the adoptables, the
only thing that is pre-determined is name, age, dragon and position. Since
most of them are riders of rank(Wingleader, Wingsecond etc), it's a given
really. That said any character mentioned in the Weyr Records Book in
Weyrwoman's Quarters with a mark of it being an NPC is adoptable and be
chosen to be played. So think on it, discuss with us, see what you can up
with. Your character can make all the difference!

In September, there were two birthdays. One was mine so move along... the
other was Desh's! Happy birthday in a belated but still very cuddly and
loving way, Desh! *hands over a handful of wild-flowers and hopes Desh
doesn't have any allergies*

Lastly, a little note about your daily clicks. At the bottom of the forum's
front page are two important buttons I've mentioned before. One is for
RPG-D Fandom Topsites and the other for Pern Topsites. You can click those
daily so go ahead and do it! Thanks to all of our help and activity, Winds
of Fury is now among the Top 10 Pern sites! Well done, guys and keep
rocking!

~*~ In Character(IC) ~*~

The following new characters were added in September: L'vin and Graehym. A
much needed greenrider for the newly opened Gray Wing and another Healer to
lighten the burden of the current ones who are also needing to do their
duty as dragonriders! Considering the newest plot will make most of the
Weyr sick, it is also a very well timed appearance!

As mentioned, the newest Wing to open for characters is the Gray Wing. Once
the laughing stock of the whole Weyr with its lazy and out of control
riders, the Gray has been shaken up by the transfer of most of it's riders
into different Wings, replacement of it's Wingleader and Wingsecond and has
been making slow but sure progress with new and fresh blood from various
other Wings. For the time being, all new dragonrider characters created
will join the Gray Wing by default unless requested particularly. The new
Wingleader is M'kailo(Played by Jana) and the Wingsecond S'meil is an
adoptable NPC, a young, feisty brownrider hell bent on proving his worth.

That said, the Red Wing is also in search of a Wingsecond. While the
Wingleader gets things done just fine, it isn't really plausible that he
would keep it up forever. So when you have a bronze- or brownrider idea
floating around in your head and feel like up to the challenge, contact
J'cob(Played by Nyaare) and it can be arranged.

As another wanted ad, Enkala Weyr is in dire need of a Weyrlingmaster.
While it could be any (elderly) bronzerider, browns and blues are also
considered given that they are not in their first youth anymore and have
considerable experience in dragonriding and how things are ran in Enkala
Weyr. For more information, contact the Weyrleader, T'khor(Played by
SRness). Please, would you think of the children!

Following a successful Clutching in the previous month, the end of
September saw the beginning of Hatching of Talmeth's Second Clutch. 37 eggs
were laid on the Sands and the scene is still going strong so if you have
an idea for a Candidate/Weyrling, check out the Hatching information, set
up your concept and send Nyaare the dragon information for your desired
Impression. There are plenty of greens, blues and browns, even a few
bronzes available still so get them while they're hot! That said, the
Weyrling positions have been opened up for those of you who rather would
just go straight into Weyrlinghood without making it to the Hatching.

Following after the Hatching and Hatching Celebration that will begin after
the Hatching scene is done, a new and darker plot develops. Herdbeasts have
been getting sick and the beastcrafters have no idea why. And as if that
wasn't enough, some Weyrfolk, even riders have been feeling under the
weather recently as well. What might be going on? Join in and find out as
the storyline continues to unravel. This is certainly a plot everyone can
take part of.

Well, this is it. News are exhausted but surely there have been a lot more
than that going on so you best come and check it out yourself.

Clear Skies!
